REDkit enters Open Beta!

The moment everyone has been waiting for is finally here! We are proud to announce the launch of REDkit, the ultimate set of tools for crafting non-linear role-playing adventures! The editor has just entered its open beta phase, allowing everyone who is waiting for The Witcher 3 to go back to the previous installment of the series and create new, amazing content or just play around with other modders’ creations.

The editor gives modders of all skill levels the tools, they need to tell non-linear tales full of branching plots, believable characters and far-reaching consequences for player actions. Without learning to program or wrangling with opaque editors, game creators can use the top-quality art and assets from The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings or import their own, as well as intuitive tools for environment creation, to craft their own unique role-playing adventures.

“For CD Projekt RED, RPGs are all about telling amazing stories,” said Adam Badowski, head of CD Projekt RED. “We want to give players the power to tell the same kind of non-linear, branching stories that made The Witcher games so popular. Our fans have helped us for years to make our games the best they can be, and REDkit is part of embracing our community as a partner in game development.”

For more details regarding REDkit, and the editor itself, please visit its official website.

Relocate your Documents folder to the other HDD. This is a good idea if you are using your SSD for Windows anyway.

See http://en.thewitcher.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=35045&view=findpost&p=973034 for the details.

Per-user stuff goes under your Documents folder or other folders in your profile, not to arbitrary folders. That's a Windows best practice, and you can't fault CDPR for adhering to it />/>/>

thnx buddy that helped me a lot

I have the steam version, I take it I can download it and start playing it as well?

Should be able to yes . Create the UserContent folder in your Documents>Witcher 2 folder Then unzip and place the extracted Lykaon folder in the UserContent folder . Then from the taskbar right click Steam>Witcher 2 and from the launcher select the Mods tab and select Lykaon and either save and exit or save and run .

You should not download patch 3.4 manually since steam already updated The Witcher 2. You still have to create the UserContent folder (I think) and copy the mods into it before playing them.

Seems like Combat rebalance mod will feature a taste of what we can expect from TW3 sword fighting system...

No, Lykaon is not part of the main game. The story takes place roughly twenty years before the first witcher game and you can start the mod in the main menu.
After you've done everything on http://redkit.cdprojektred.com/index.php?c=download (Gamer's Edition) and downloaded Lykaon, you can click on "New Game", "User Content" and then "Lykaon". It is a separate campaign.

Any idea when we can expect FCR2?
Also what exactly is meant by "elixirs have negative influence"? Several potions already have a downside.

Anyone wanna make a video of the new animations. I kinda uninstalled W2 and too lazy to boot it up again.

His changes cover the list of complaints most gamers had with the gameplay. Being able to hold guard while moving will alter combat drastically, not to mention all the other tweaks. I hope we can use them in Arena. At any rate, this probably means another run for me as well.

Great news! Now this is the final reason for my 4th playthrough, I'll start right after FCR2 gets released.
